DISCLAIMER
I want to be the first to say that there are an infinite number of ways to record, mix, and master a recording. What I present here, is just how I do it after many years of experience, and trial and error.
(Which is on going and never really ends completely).
Because of the unlimited possibilities, there is a point where you have to decide; I am going to do it this way, or that way, (for the most part), or you will never get anything done.
I spent a long time tweaking and testing the DAW setup I now use, but you also have to tell yourself, that at some point this is it, and now we need to get to work. Having limits inspires other levels of creativity in your process.
If what you see here on my website, or in my videos gives you an idea to try something, that’s great! I too spent countless hours reading, listening, watching YouTube videos on plug-ins, and setups, and experimenting to get to where I am today. So again, how I do things, is just one way among the unlimited possibilities of doing it. I make no claim that this is the “right” way to do things.
However, when explaining things or techniques I use, for example, I note my thinking that had me, for example, configure the bus structure this way or that way, and it is up to you, if that makes sense or not.
The bottom line is how will your music will sound if I mix and master it?
Let’s work together and find out!
